The Surgery
- In the Operating room
Hip or knee replacement surgery is generally a 2-to 3-hour procedure, and you will be in the operating room for an additional hour or so for beginning anesthesia and other necessary procedures before and after the operation. - After Leaving the Operating Room
You will be taken to a recovery room, where you will be closely monitored for two hours or so.You may wake up there or in your room. No visitors are allowed in the recovery room, but you can have visitors as soon as you get to your room on the orthopaedic floor.
